Echo Park:
Echo Park is a beautiful neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, nestled between Elysian Valley to the north and northeast, Elysian Park to the east, Chinatown and Downtown to the southeast, Westlake to the southwest and west, and Silver Lake to the north. Some notable residents of the area include actors Steve McQueen, Shia LaBeouf, Leonardo DiCaprio, as well as artist Carlos Almaraz. With a gorgeous open-space, many restaurants and nightclubs, Echo Park is known as one of the city’s hippest neighborhoods.
Silver Lake:
Silver Lake is a trendy residential and commercial neighborhood in Central Los Angeles, located next to Atwater Village and East Hollywood and on the northwest by Los Feliz. It’s known for its restaurant, clubs, and weekly art walks. Walt Disney’s first studio was actually built here. The population is diverse and well educated. Silver Lake was named for Water Board Commissioner Herman Silver, who was instrumental in the creation of the Silver Lake Reservoir, located within the neighborhood
Highland Park:
The historic Highland Park is a hilly neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, located along the Arroyo Seco Parkway. It is situated within what was once Rancho San Rafael of the Spanish/Mexican era. It’s one of the oldest settled areas of Los Angeles, and known for it’s stunning architecture. Recently, its began to build a reputation as a mecca for artists, with trendy shops, galleries, bars and restaurants opening throughout the neighborhood. Highland has a legacy of long-standing businesses, including Galco’s Soda Pop Stop, which has been family owned and operated for over 100 years.
Glendale:
The third largest city in Los Angeles, Glendale lies at the east end of the San Fernando Valley. The city is bordered to the by the Sun Valley to the north; Burbank and Griffith Park to the west; Pasadena to the east, and Los Feliz to the south. Bob’s Big Boy actually opened their first location here in 1936. Known for its safety, Glendale maintains its own police department, employing more officers than any other city in Los Angeles. It also has a wide selection of malls, shops, and restaurants. Glendale is home to many celebrities including Mario Lopez, Pat Sajak, Jon Cho, and Paul Walker.
Mount Washington:
Mount Washington is a historic neighborhood in the hills of Northeast Los Angeles, bordering Eagle Rock and Highland Park. In recent years, many homebuyers have become attracted to the area as a relatively affordable alternative to the west side, even though it is known as most affluent area of the east side. It includes the Southwest Museum, the world headquarters of the Self-Realization Fellowship and Eldred Street, one of the three steepest streets in Los Angeles. Mount Washington Elementary School is known for consistently scoring among the top schools in Los Angeles on the Academic Performance Index. Its great location and road access make it an ideal living situation for any home buyer.
Historic Filipinotown:
Historic Filipinotown is a district of the city of Los Angeles, California, that makes up the southwest portion of Echo Park. It was created by a resolution proposed by then-City Councilmember Eric Garcetti on August 2, 2002. The district is bounded by the Hoover Street on the west to Glendale Boulevard on the east, Temple Street on the north, Beverly Boulevard on the south side. This section of Echo Park has always been a puzzle, especially since it was separated from its northern portion by the US 101 Freeway in the 1950s and the southern section of the park where the tennis courts and baseball field are located.
